Elder Lodges Windermere - Terms & Conditions

We want you to enjoy your holiday in the best way possible and we have done everything in our power to ensure that things are in place for you to have a fabulous holiday! Here are the terms and conditions for booking with us at Elder Lodges. When you book with us you are agreeing to these terms. The terms and conditions are not to spoil or invade your holiday but to protect your holiday and also the holidays of other guests on the park.

  • In the first instance of any issues/concerns, please call me directly on this number 07775 704 427
  • A deposit of £100 secures your booking with us, this is not refundable.
  • The balance becomes due 6 weeks before arrival and we ask you to pay the balance either by cheque or internet transfer in time for this date, if your payment is not received we will send reasonable reminders to the email address you supplied when booking, or we may telephone you. We reserve the right to reallocate your dates if you do not respond within a week of this contact and the deposit will not be refunded. If you have difficulties please tell us and we will always try to accommodate.
  • If you need to cancel your holiday with us then you must do so 6 weeks prior to the start of your holiday. If you cancel at short notice and we cannot reallocate the time to another guest, then the holiday fee is non-refundable although if we can secure another booking we will refund the cost of your holiday minus the deposit.
  • On the day of arrival you can normally collect the keys at 3.00pm, sometimes they may be ready earlier depending on our house keeper's schedule, please ask.
  • The keys for the lodge are in a secure box opposite the side entrance door, a black and grey 'Master' safe key box at waist level. If you are arriving at night, bring a torch as you need to apply a combination number code to retrieve the key. 1 key is in the box, please always leave one in the box in case you lose yours. Remember to return them both before you go home and do not reveal the combination code (scramble the numbers on the dial as you leave).
  • Departure is strictly by 10.00am on the final day to allow adequate housekeeping and fit in with the housekeeper’s tight schedule.
  • Please leave the lodge in good order, sometimes accidents happen, please report any breakages or damage (please text or phone me as soon as this happens so that things can be made good in time for the next guests and the housekeeper can bring up any replacements).
  • We do not charge an extra fee for cleaning and if the lodge is left in an unreasonable condition which takes our housekeeper excessive time to put right, you will be sent the bill for her extra time.
  • Whilst we accept minor breakages and accidents happen, any malicious damage or damage caused by careless and reckless use of this facility will be charged directly to you.
  • In winter, extremes of weather at this altitude can be unpredictable and we cannot accept responsibility for things beyond our control, although we will always endeavour to resolve a situation.
  • Facilities and equipment, from time to time, some things become unavailable, services, utilities etc.. we cannot accept responsibility for things beyond our control in respect of this. All information re the lodge, and facilities of the park are given always in good faith.


  • In the unlikely event of unforeseeable circumstances, we may have to cancel your holiday at short notice, in the unlikely event of this happening you will be given a full refund including your deposit.
  • In winter time and times of heavy rain the park may become inaccessible to you. This is beyond our control and we advise you to take out holiday insurance against this unfortunate occurrence. We cannot offer refunds due to bad weather but we may credit you with an alternative stay with us.
  • The person booking the holiday must provide a home address and full contact details including telephone number and details of all persons staying in the lodge.
  • Occupancy, this lodge is insured for 4 guests the lodge must only be accommodated by the people on the original booking information. Anybody breaking this agreement will be asked to leave the lodge immediately and no refund of any description will be given. We reserve the right of access to the lodge at any time, we will not enter the lodge during your stay without informing you in advance.
  • The lodge is strictly non-smoking, you may smoke in the garden area, please extinguish cigarettes carefully.
  • Max 2 well behaved dogs
  • The house keeper will do an inventory check at the end of your stay, any missing items will be billed to you and any theft or malicious damage, reported to the police without exception.
  • You must make yourself familiar with the park rules, displayed in the information brochure in the lounge, anybody causing a nuisance or breaking these rules will be asked to leave the lodge immediately without refund of any monies.
  • Always close all windows and doors before you leave, turn off all lights, appliances except red switches which must be left on
  • There is 24hr CCTV and security services at Limefitt but we cannot accept responsibility for theft or damage to your property whilst staying in the lodge.
  • Please be aware that in wet and icy conditions the decking around the lodge can become very slippery, this is due to the nature of the material and is unavoidable. We cannot be held responsible for any accidents here, please be careful!
  • Please do not allow children to climb the stone wall, there are sharp stones jutting out and a drop on the other side so please be responsible at all times.
  • Whilst we are up to date with all safety checks regarding gas and electricity utilities, we cannot accept liability for personal injury during the course of your holiday in the lodge. For your safety there is a smoke alarm and a carbon monoxide detector. All electrical appliances are annually PAT's tested and gas services/fittings are Gas Safe assured.
